Wallflower is an immersive mixed media exhibition Jessie is creating that dives deep into questions of identity, social constructs, and self-discovery. The story explores the feeling of being pressured to change oneself to fit into specific groups, jobs, or societal expectations — essentially addressing that "wallflower" experience of standing on the sidelines, unsure how to fit in.
The exhibit centers on themes like isolation, existential questioning, and the inner struggle between conforming and staying true to oneself. Inspired by the grunge style of the '90s and New York punk vibes of the '70s, Wallflower has a raw, reflective aesthetic. Through art, culture, and personal narratives, the exhibit aims to evoke transformative, thought-provoking experiences for viewers, helping them connect with the beauty of self-reflection amidst the noise of social expectations.
Jessie is also designing the exhibit as a journey without definite answers — an intentional move to highlight the complexity of identity and the beauty found in life's small, authentic moments.
Dive into a thought-provoking experience that challenges the facade of social media and encourages authentic self-expression. Together, let’s uncover the layers of our identities and reflect on what it means to be truly seen.
